Nothing to be surprised at when you read the question- the question is correct, appropriate and at the right time.
If you are alive try to find out whether the life you are leading is an animal life or human life and if it is human then what it is ? Is it moving upwards spiritually or spiralling downwards ? After this another question raises its head-which life of yours is this? Second, third, seventh or eight ? According to hindu philosophy after undergoing through 84 lakh forms of existence the soul gets to human body/life and then once again goes through and moves ahead into these forms. That’s why human life is called golden and scarce life. Some people very well understand their life and by proper guidance reach their goals, but some people are satisfied with what they get and are happy to live in that state/condition. Recent Research:-
In the last few years, Paranormal science has found out and established that human soul regains another human body after its death. It doesn’t take birth as an animal of any kind or in any other form or existence. There are hundreds of examples where a child born in a village in India, has recounted his previous life as it was and when it was researched the facts he recounted have been found true and correct to the core. This establishes the fact that after human death, for sometime the soul moves in different forms such as ghost, evil spirit etc., but after roaming around gets rebirth from a human womb. In paranormal science there hasn’t been a single example where any child has recounted that he was born as such and such animal and now has been reborn in a human form.
It has been clearly mentoined in Jain scriptures (book) “Savya Suth” that a human is reborn as a human only after death. A male is reborn as a male and a female takes rebirth as a female only. This book farther states that the myth of having eighty four lac forms of birth is only symbolic. For example when a person is reborn as a human and after that lives his life as a donkey does. His whole body is filled with laziness, he is lethargic. There is no fixed time frame for work to be done, he is dim-witted, dull and his life goes on just by dragging on the weight of his family and in the end he dies. Though he was born as a human, he lived his life as a donkey and that’s why his, this very existence was called a life of a donkey. Similarly some females are very greedy and do not keep sanctity in regards to their behaviour, thoughts, feeding habits etc., like partaking food while it is still cooking, eating in between to ascertain that whether it is properly cooked or not, or taking milk, ghee secretively. Then their lives are called to be the life of a cat.
All in all the holy book has clearly established that once human body is destroyed, the soul takes rebirth or form in another human form only. How that new human form lives his/her life determines which form of existence that person is in (a dog’s, a cat’s or some bird’s) This is the 6th life:-
It is very clearly stated in both Hindu and Bodh philosophy about human life and its identity. When Lord Buddha was nearing his death, he called his disciple Anand and told him, “Anand I am leaving this body, but I have not still achieved completeness because this is my sixth life.”
Anand was not able to clearly understand what Lord was saying, so he said, “The thing you have not been able to understand, will be clear to you when you read the holy books.” This fact has been very well and clearly stated in Bodh scriptures, as well as according to well known Jain Acharaya-Belacharya’s book “Jeevanar Jeevan.” This book clearly mentions with all the evidence-what human life is ? And by what means you can identify your life ? Enumerating Bodh as well as Greek philosophy this book goes on to explain Jain philosophy in a very detailed manner and Belacharya has explained- “What life is , in its complete form?. He was a great scholar of Jain as well as philosophy. It is said that he could remove soul from the body and was able to look back at the various lives it had transcended. In his life he had studied all the known philosophies and in the last stages of his life be wrote an 80 page book which was, “Jeevanar Jeevan and this book is said to be the main guideline based on facts in this field. Belacharya mentions that every human soul is compelled to take birth and when the body is destroyed or aged (leading to death), the soul is set free and it roams in the atmosphere and tries to imbibe a new, healthy and fresh body. When a child is born, it is its 1st life but it is not necessary that it is its first birth, because the base of life is recognition of the soul and making the life move upwards or upliftment. Belacharya told that there is no difference between human life and the life of an animal. The difference is that man walks with two limbs whereas the animal uses four limbs. Animals also eat food, sleep and produce off-springs at due time.
The elemental/essential difference between the two starts when one leaves worldly manipulations/manifestation (guile, fraud, lie) on the way-side and tries to recognise one’s soul and pursues the (upgradation) upswing of one’s own life. From that very moment his human existence starts and that very existence is called his first life.
A person may take fifty or more births but they are not actually called as life, it can be just called as animal existence (life). That’s why such existence is neither counted and nor given any thought. If the thought of recognising or identifying one’s own soul is a flash then it is a waste of time, in common spoken language it is called as “Masania Vairaag.” When some individual attends a funeral, then he has thoughts about the means by which he is collecting wealth (deception, fraud and by sinful methods) and this all is futile, as one leaves this world empty-handed. Then why should I do all this ? From now onwards I will keep myself away from all such kind of manipulations, but by the time he reaches home, he has forgotten all this and is back to square-one. This type of flashy thoughts or urges can not be called as the beginning of existence (life). Recognition of life and how one can uplift it ? What really is life ? When a person by his rituals or by the grace of one’s guru finds/recognises the answer to these questions-then it is the beginning of life. Belacharya mentions that when the 1st life starts-then vibration starts in the lowermost part of the helix (kundalini) and the very existence (life) starts from that moment onwards.  Sometimes this vibration starts unknowingly and the person puts no effort towards this direction, then the vibration stops all together by itself and the life which was about to manifest itself stops. But some person due to the blessings of the Almighty or Guru realise or are alert towards this and are successful in uplifting this vibration in the helix slowly and their life takes an upward surge. When this person dies and the soul takes birth in a different body, this soul is accompanied by this vibration which continues in its same state. If this occurs then it is called its second existence (life).
(Helix) Kundalinee is life:- The starting point of Kundalinee is called “Muladhaar.” whereas its end point is called “Sahastraar.” When this vibration starting from “Mulaadhaar” reaches or moves upwards more than half the way, then the person feels a certain sensation in its spine. When this type of sensation is felt-then one can say that this stage is of Kundalinee awakening and the surge is upwards. When the vibration in the kundalinee reaches “Sahastraar”-then Sahastraar awareness/consciousness starts. The muscles which were dormant, starts throbbing. Due to the awakening of these muscles the person’s life or existence has an enlightenment. The person feels that he is bathed in a special kind of light. The person’s face has a special glow and aura and he is able to see all the happenings in the world in an all-together new perspective. But this condition terminates within 3 cites or in other words the person whose ‘Sahastraar” has awakened, has achieved 3 lifes (births).
Belacharaya has described the characteristics of all 8 lifes (births/existence). In short they are as follows:- 1-    1st (First) life:- Every human body achieves it and it is generally called common life. There is essentially no difference between this life (existence) or animal life. 2-    2nd (Second) life:- If the vibration in the kundalinee starts in the 1st life and remains continuous till death, then it is carried over to the next birth. If such a person is blessed by the grace of a Guru and by special efforts he is able to make the upwards surge in the Kundalinee, then if the person so desires can make it rise upto ‘Sahastraar’. Otherwise normally the vibration in the Kundalinee reaches upto the base of head. The person who has the second life rises a few notches above the animal life. There is no cruelty in its life , his mind is filled with softness and pity. Guru holds the topmost position in his life and realises that this person is capable of uplifting his existence from animal life, and blesses him with a divine existence. The person so blessed with vibration in the Kundalinee which has been uplifted to the very base of the head, ends its life (2nd existence) here. Many a times due to certain conditions, environment of the house and other reasons the vibration slowly weakness and moves downwards, coming to rest back at ‘Mulaadhaar’. In such a case the person moves back to its 1st life and when this occurs it is called degradation. 3-    3rd (Third) life:- It is an important life, because by the blessings of Guru, or by one’s own effort is able to pierce the ‘Shastraar.’ Then this life touches the epitome of values. The person is not greedy and is free from fraud, deception, guile and manipulations. The person recognises human values and works towards the upliftment of his existence and these values. There is a special kind of glow on his face which can never be seen on an ordinary human face. Many a time he has feelings/sensations about what is about to unfold in the future. He has intuitions about the good or bad things , that are to unfold in the future. He has effect on people who come in contact with him.
4-    4th (Fourth) life:- This life takes an important turn, because though the person is in household, he is not a part of it because in his life human values have more importance. He is not confined to the well-being of himself or his family but the spectrum now encompasses the well-being of society, country, world. If an earthquake takes place somewhere in the world and lives are lost, then there is pain and sorrow in his heart. Along with this his life has taken the road to divinity. People consult him and are attracted towards his persona. They feel blessed to sit besides and converse with such a person. This person has the ability of achieving completeness in every aspect of life. 5-    5th (Fifth) life:- Person entering the 5th life has a slight splendour around his face. One can recognise this life as the person’s voice has a different kind of hypnotic effect. This person’s voice has a calming and soothing effect on the mind. One feels or tends to spend more time in the person’s presence so that one can gain something from him. This person though involved with his household chores, concentrates on the upsurge of his life. He is continuously making effort to lift his soul and life upwards. Such type of persons though being an ascetic is able to full-fill all his household duties, but there is no place for passion in his life. There is no place for greed or lowly thoughts. There is only divinity, supremacy, eminence. There is attraction towards this type of personality. People come from long distance to meet him and try to be devoted towards such a person. Such type of existence/life is said to be the best life because the work done by such a person becomes historical. 6-    6th (Sixth) life:- This life is important in-itself as the pinnacle of the humanitarian values are embedded in the person’s life. This person is now capable of leading the society and showing it the righteous path. A large chunk of society becomes his followers. This whole life has a special kind of parameter and shape. People are attracted towards such persons and they can set new trends and new paths/new ideology. Their voice has conviction and stability and whatever they say they can very easily justify. They do not pay any attention to the opposition they face. They move with a rapid pace towards the goals they have set and do not tolerate any obstacle on this path. Lord Mahavir, Lord Buddha, Shree Ramchandra are examples of this life. 7-    7th (Seventh) life:- According to Belachyarya the seventh life is an untouched life, in which a special kind of loftiness is established. The person creates such a sheath around himself, that people are not able to recognise, identify him. Though having achieved greatness they resemble or look like common-man.
They have the capability to diminish the splendour/glow on their face, so that the common-man is not able to recognise him. They do all the worldly affairs just like the common-man does. By their works, speeches, thoughts, writings, they are capable to give new directions to the society and the world. Their personality is magnetic. On the outside these person appear simple, peaceful and amiable. He is happy in pleasure and unhappy in sorrow. On their face is child-like simplicity and compassion, but this type of soul encloses an immense personality, which is hidden behind a cloak/curtain so that it is not involved in the mundane worldly affairs. They have deep penetrating vision which pierces layers. They are complete in the matters of knowledge science. The biggest characteristic is the flow of a scent from their body which is continuous. 8. 8th (Eigth) life:- It in itself is the complete condition, where such a person incorporates oneself into the society just like another normal person. Though being one with the society such a person is easily seen different from the others. The immensity of this personality is such that it can cause effect on the society and the world by its thoughts and can give new ideology/perspective. His works have a novelty/freshness, his personality is magnetic and attractive, his voice is captivating and he is full of humanitarian values. They are ascetic, though being a householder. They think their life is complete when they have lived the life of an ascetic and then have fulfilled their householder’s duties afterwards. Their dressing or attire is simple, but blessed are people who are able to peep into such personalities and are able to recognise their immensity/colossal personality. Normal person consider him one amongst themselves. Lord Krishna was one such personality. He was able to hide/camouflage his colossus within himself while living normally in the society. One who has attained the eight life, has achieved the supreme boon and the pinnacle of all positions.
On the termination of the eight life one achieves salvation, before this the soul can’t merge with the Divine light. The person achieves completeness on completing his eight life and is able to achieve salvation. Eight lifes in a single birth:- According to philosophy it is not necessary to be reborn eight times to achieve the 8th life, as said before even after taking 50 rebirths, one can start its 1st existence (life). Likewise, when an individual wishes he can achieve all the eight lifes in its present existence, but for this one needs the right path-guider, and he should be one who is living his sixth/seventh/eight life. Guru who himself is living his first or second existence can’t guide you any farther. An individual by means of Kundalinee awakening, penetration of “Sahastraar” and special kind of meditation can achieve or transcend all the eight lives and attain salvation and merge his soul with the Almighty in his present existence.
Which life of yours is this ? You yourselves can contemplate and identify about which life you are living at the present?  If not possible then through a capable Guru you can indentify it. Guru who is capable in “Praja-Sadhana”, can by his meditation see the person in front of his eyes and indentify the persons present existence. When he is able to do so, then he can easily guide his farther life. For this caste and condition are no barrier, no distinction in big or small, no difference in male or female. All that is needed is the awakening of spiritual rituals. One needs to think about himself i.e. introspect leaving all the worldly affairs aside and decide which life one wants to lead and how one can achieve completeness and attain salvation.

Nothing to be surprised at when you read the question- the question is correct, appropriate and at the right time.
